Minister of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform, Namibia

Biography

Honorable Calle Schlettwein serves as the Minister of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform, and a Member of Parliament of Republic of Namibia. Previously, he served as the Minister of Finance, Minister of Trade and Industry, and Deputy Minister of Finance amongst other positions such as a Permanent Secretary in various Ministries. On Heroes' Day 2014, he was conferred the Most Excellent Order of the Eagle, Second Class. He was a Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Southern African Customs Union, and he has also been responsible for the Public Works and Transport department on an interim. He is a strong advocate for ensuring a sustainable water supply and supporting the socio-economic development, and integrating the farm's production practices into Government Green Schemes for an increased yield.
