RUFORUM Vision 2030: The African Universities’ Agenda for Agricultural Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (AHESTI)’ – emerges from a broadly informed, systematically consultation process. It represents the expertise, insight and input of many individuals, including university faculty, staff and administrators, scientists and researchers, public officers and policy makers, the civic and private sector, and community members.This abridged version outlines the orienting problems of agricultural higher education and agricultural transformation in Africa, a vision for Africa’s agricultural sector, the RUFORUM mission as a significant contributor to this transformation and, most importantly, the four strategic flagship initiatives that are at the heart of RUFORUM’s strategy for harnessing the discovery, engagement and learning of ‘vibrant, transformative universities to catalyse sustainable, inclusive agricultural development to feed and create prosperity for Africa’.
