About the RUFORUM 2010 Biennal Conference
"The 2010 RUFORUM Biennial Conference was the second in the series. The main objective of the Biennial conferences is to provide a platform for agricultural research for development stakeholders in Africa and beyond to actively exchange findings and experiences, while at the same time learning lessons towards improving performance of the agricultural sector and ultimately people’s livelihoods. The biennial conference is RUFORUM’s most comprehensive meeting for the diversity of stakeholders in agriculture. It is especially dedicated to graduate students and their supervisors, grantees in RUFORUM member universities and alumni. Involvement of oligopeptidase B in the establishment of a central nervous system infection by Trypanosoma brucei brucei
Abstract:
African trypanosomiasis is a major disease in several countries
in eastern Africa, Uganda inclusive. This study is examining
the role of oligopeptidase B (opB) in virulence of the vector
Trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense and T. brucei gambiense.
Preliminary results are discussed.
La trypanosomiase africaine est une maladie importante dans
plusieurs pays d’Afrique de l’Est, l’Ouganda inclusivement. Cette
étude examine le rôle de oligopeptidase B (opB) dans la
virulence du vecteur Trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense et T.
brucei gambiense. Les résultats préliminaires sont discutés.
