Description

Farmers mix quite a number of ingredients to make the local fertilizers which they apply on their crops such as bananas, cassava and groundnuts. The farmers mix a lot of ingredients such as urine, hot pepper, ash and moringa.

The following procedure is used.  The farmer puts urine in jerry cans with the top ends cut. She also puts the other ingredients as seen above and covers the mixture. The mixture is left un tampered with for a period of two weeks to a month in order to reduce the acid content in it since urine is associated with acidity as the farmers say. It is later applied on to the plant to help increase the productivity of the crop.
