Sixth RUFORUM Principal Investigators Orientation Meeting

Abstract: 
The Sixth RUFORUM Principal Investigators Orientation Meeting brought together 33 principal investigators from the Graduate Research Grants (GRG) scheme and Community Action Research Programme (CARP) from ten countries. The meeting sought to orient the principal investigators on the management of the RUFORUM Competitive Grants System and their expected roles and responsibilities.GRGs are awarded to individual senior lecturers of RUFORUM member universities to support agricultural and/ or agricultural-related action research and the training of two graduate students. CARPs, on the other hand, are designed to link universities to communities and other stakeholders and support training of at least one doctorate and two master’s students. This report contains proceedings of the meeting including PI experiences and lessons in project implementation.
